A September Reset
This summer has felt very different for me. After months on the road with the ADHD Unmasked theatre tour, the long drives, hotels, sound checks and meeting so many incredible people, I’ve finally had time to be at home. And honestly? I’ve loved it. Home is my happy place. Hanging out with my husband and teens. it was just what I needed.
There’s something grounding about slipping back into the rhythm of daily life. I’ve spent time in the garden, played with the dogs, watching the plants grow (and the weeds grow faster!). Got carried away and chopped down loads of bushes! There’s also a calmness in noticing the small things, which makes me really happy.
Now, as September arrives, I can already see the changes. The leaves are beginning to fall, the mornings feel cooler and there’s a new feeling in the air. And I know courtesy of my teen, the Starbucks Autumn menu is nearly upon us!
For me, September has always felt more like a fresh start than January ever does. A natural reset. A time to make small changes, or even big ones. A time to plan. And re-set. I love it.
And that’s very much what this season is about for me.
Alongside slowing down at home, Kelly and I have been building something new that we’re really proud of. Because I may be taking it easy of the summer, but my speedy brain, never, ever, stops!
So say hello to: The Perfectly Autistic Academy.
Over the past five years, we’ve trained tens of thousands of people about neurodiversity. And one question keeps popping up again and again:
"How do I do what you do?"
That’s why we’ve created a live course where we’ll teach you how to become a confident, credible neurodiversity trainer. It’s practical, interactive and designed to give you everything we wish we’d had when we first started. And of course it’s neurodivergent friendly too.
So while the trees are shedding their leaves and making space for what’s next, maybe September is also the time for you to take that next step too.
We’ve got two courses - one for individuals who want to take the leap and become a neurodiversity trainer and one for corporates or large organisations that want training from within.
Whether you’re an HR or DE&I professional, a coach, consultant, workplace trainer or simply someone with lived experience (or anyone else who has an interest) and wants to lead change, our neurodiversity training courses are designed for you.
You can find all the details here:

For now, I’m heading back outside to make the most of the sunshine this morning. September might be about new beginnings, but it’s also about enjoying the season we’re in.
Wishing you a gentle, hopeful start to autumn,
Hester
