My plans for the year... don't get too excited!
Anyone else feel that January was a non-starter? The month flew by and yet it felt like it went on for 912 days. Yet here I am in February looking at my year ahead.
All I can currently think about is my tour ADHD Unmasked. It’s just 106 days until I go on tour … not that I’m counting!! I am now having meetings with the director which is super exciting and have new art work too. More about the tour in another post as I would love your input!
I am also loving spending time on Instagram. If you don’t follow me already come and find me - I am HesterADHD. You’ll find me talking about lots of random stuff, mainly ADHD but also my impulse purchases, how I am REALLY feeling and anything else that takes my fancy! So come and find me over there.
The main point for me and social media is to be open and authentic. Yes I am ‘fairly’ selective with which photos of myself I post. No-one needs to see my 29 chins after all. But I do try and be honest and share what’s actually go on in my life. Check out my video last week which involved losing my car keys in Lidl car park and walking ages in the rain, and having to get my gym padlock lopped off my locker as I couldn’t get the combination to work.
As for the year ahead, I bought a one a day, tear-off calendar with inspirational quotes…which I’ve yet to open and get out of its box. But on the other hand I have managed to not buy any new diaries or planners this year. Which I think for an ADHDer is a huge win!
I am also learning to be kind to myself and lean into the new year. Rather than running at it head on. It’s so cold, and yes the evenings are getting slightly lighter - but it’s still wintery out there. So being kind to ourselves is what we need right now. Not feeling stressed that we haven’t got fit, or eaten less chocolate or whatever else we ‘think’ we should do.
I don’t have any plans for the year from a personal perspective as the tour will run from May - July so is a large focus currently. If you want to join me, then you can book tickets here.
In other work news I have some exciting panels I am hosting and being a part of as well as setting something up super exciting around my coaching. So I will share more about those shortly!
Until then, take it easy and be kind to yourself. Having ADHD can be HARD WORK, so just being you each and every day is bloody amazing!

Hi Hester, I'm really looking forward to coming to see you at your Lytham show! It's a lovely venue which tends to get decent audiences and the locals are great so I'm sure it'll be a brilliant night.
