Vocal stimming and why it makes me happy
Share

I have been talking a lot lately about vocal stimming.

Anyone else sing, repeat words or phrases or hum? You may well do this because it helps you relax or you like the sound of specific words. I find that certain words just roll off the tongue and I repeat them over and over again which makes me happy!

“Stimming” or self-stimulation can be used to define any conscious or unconscious self-soothing behaviours a person does. It is often associated with autism but also ADHD and other neurodivergent conditions.
